Foothills Apartments

We managed a landscape renovation project for a condominium complex and met all approval conditions set by the City of Sandy. Our approach focused on ensuring the landscape met all code requirements while delivering an efficient, visually appealing design for the client.

A key consideration was that part of the property lay within a Flood and Slope Hazard Overlay District. The property had previously been stripped of most vegetation, and some areas were actively eroding. We addressed these concerns by protecting existing trees and adding erosion-control plantings to stabilize the soil and reduce flood risk.

We developed a detailed Landscape Plan that adhered to the City’s conditions for approval. This plan included a plant legend specifying the names, sizes, quantities, and spacing of proposed plant materials, along with an outline specification for their installation. Our design incorporated native plantings and erosion control measures to effectively address environmental and regulatory requirements.

The Landscape Plan featured planted swales with water-loving plants, designed to enhance stormwater management and reduce erosion. We created a cohesive planting palette throughout the large complex, ensuring a unified aesthetic that complements the surrounding environment.
